Provoke Entertainment has produced four successful and highly provocative TV drama series to date. They are the ground breaking After 9 (Season 1 & Season 2), about A Closeted Gay man who fights to break away from his pending marriage after he finds true love with another man; Hola Mpinji! The Adventures of Stanza about a group of youth in Alex township who want to enter a Gospel singing competition but get caught up in a new lethal drug and Ihawu a political thriller about a young PHD student who investigates and learns of a clandestine & debilitating relationship between South Africa’s struggle hereos and big business.
Sechaba Morojele directed all the drama series produced by Provoke Entertainment. He has a MFA Degree in Film and Directing from The American Film Institute (AFI) in Los Angeles California where Ubuntu’s Wounds, his thesis film, won numerous awards including the prestigious Franklin J. Schaffner award for directing the best thesis film from his year, Best Short film at the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles and The Director's Guild of America (DGA) Student Award for outstanding achievement in directing.
Even though Sechaba Morojele has been the head writer and writer on all the shows produced by Provoke Entertainment, independent writers are often recruited for each show and their responsibilities have varied from being head writers, script editors, story liners and writers. Provoke Entertainment is a strong advocate of script writing fundamentals and they are consistently working to better their art of story writing.
Provoke Entertainment has recently embarked on a script editing service, working on projects funded by The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) and The KwaZulu Natal Film Commission. Provoke Entertainment believes that script editing is the corner stone to well written scripts and their belief is working with the script writer draft by draft to ensure they achieve the best story that they want to tell.
Sechaba Morojele is an established actor having acted on the big and small screens as well as on stage for over 20 years. Though he has not had any formal training, his acting is based on the “Method” acting technique where his influences/learnings have been from iconic trainers such as Uta Hagen, Stella Adler, Lee Strasburg and Sandy Meisner.
Provoke Entertainment offers teaching services in Acting, Writing, and Directing and has been doing so for many years. They have taught across the country and in different capacities; From one on one teaching, to teaching at community centers to tutoring at tertiary educational level. Having extensive experience, Sechaba Morojele has firsthand experience and a great understanding in acting writing and directing making his teaching very relevant and focused to what is happening in the industry.
